DNV 2.7-1 Standards for Offshore Containers
In May 1989, Det Norske Veritas (DNV) issued DNV 2.7-1 Certified Standard known as DNV Certification Note 2.7-1 Offshore Freight Containers. The certification measures the resilience of offshore container design under difficult transits during offshore deployment, high rate of wear and tear, extreme loads.
Challenging working environments, including offshore catering, oil and gas, and offshore wind farms industries to name a few, require tough-designed offshore shipping containers known as DNV containers. If a DNV container has achieved DNV 2.7-1 safety standards, it can handle tough and challenging transit and deployment. Its hardiness is attributable to low-controlled temperature design and Corten steel material, and these design and manufacturing assessments along with DNV 2.7-1 safety certification ensure safeguards expected by personnel working in the related industries.
